Next Week

English
This week, we began making our memory books for our time in Year 2. The students have to reflect and think about their favourite trip, event and greatest achievement in their time in Year 2
  • We will continue our work on our memory books and write letters to our new teachers to tell them all about ourselves.
Math
In maths this week we have been measuring length using centimetres. We have been predicting lengths that are more or less that 10cm and using a ruler to measure exact lengths.
We’ve also been telling the time in 5 minute intervals around the clock.
  • Count in 3s, recognising numbers in the 3 times-table;
  • write multiplications to go with arrays and use arrays to solve multiplication problems;
  • understand that multiplication is commutative and that division and multiplication are inverse operations;
  • solve divisions as multiplications with a missing number;
  • count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s to solve divisions and solve division problems in contexts.
Inquiry
This week we began our end of unit reflections. We reflected on what we have learned from our unit about products by making a mind map and adding all of our new ideas.
  • Preparing for the transition to Year 3.
Art
We finished the decorations for our airplanes to include details such as airline name, windows, doors and logos. They are now hanging up in the hallway of the Primary building.
  • We will celebrate our artistic tendencies with art week.
PSHE
We continued with discussions based around the class dojo video.
  • Begin discussions about the transition to Year 3.
