As a warm up to our work on how our superheroes became super, we played a matching game where we had to read an origin story and match it to the famous superhero.

Island transport
This week we used our teamwork skills to decide what modes of transport we would use on an island for certain trips. Discussion and teamwork formed a very important part of this activity.

We began our topic on comic books and looked in depth at one of the key features of comic books - Superheroes! The children designed their very own superhero including an origin story to prepare for next week’s work.

Maths

We've been learning about number bonds to 20 and doubling numbers to 20. We found out that doubling is simply adding a number to itself. If a number has 2 digits, we can double the 10's number first and then the 1's number.

Humanities
|
we continued our work on islands.

Science
|
We continued looking at the food we eat in terms of diet. The children had to consider what food are healthy and unhealthy and what it means to have a balanced diet.

Art
|
We have created our very treasure maps - ensuring that all the key features of islands are present, as well as some of the fun fictional features. We’ve even tea stained them to make them look old!

PSHE
|
New beginnings PSHE scheme.

|
Next week is the Muslim holiday, Eid Al-Adha. We'll be learning about about the celebration to develop our understanding of other cultures.
