| 'Let me introduce myself' piece of writing where we discussed facts about ourselves, our families, likes, dislikes, future plans, feelings and personality. |

Math

After studying the 'Math about me' poem, we made a mind map of all the areas that we use Maths in our own lives! We also investigated place value.
| Finding pairs with a total of 100; adding to the next multiple of 100 and subtracting to the previous multiple of 100; subtract by counting up to find a difference; adding several numbers. |
UOI
|
The 10 Learner Profiles: communicator, balanced, risk-taker (courageous), reflective, knowledgeable, caring, thinkers, principled, inquirers and open-minded. These profiles are at the core of everything we teach at Ascot. The students were able to identify how the fit into each of these learner profiles.

We will begin the 'TUNING IN' part of our UOI next week by exploring our first unit: "Peoples relationships with each other can have an impact on well-being". We will discuss the meaning of 'well-being', questioning techniques, consider different types of relationships and act out conflict resolution.

Math about me
After studying the 'Math about me' poem, we made a mind map of all the areas that we use Maths in our own lives! This helps us to understand why we learn the subject at school.
Learning more about each other
On our first day of Year 4, we played catch with a ball that was full of questions. We had to answer the question that our right thumb landed on.
