Weekly Update

To proofread, edit and peer assess the poetry that we wrote last week as well as learn new types of poetry.Public speaking skills: To recite a poem.
We will begin our new unit, ‘Stories from another culture’ by discussing two different stories set in Africa and South America. We will be identifying various points of view, building our retelling skills, as well as our developing out writing
Maths
Read, write 4-digit numbers and know what each digit represents; compare 4-digit numbers using < and > and place on a number line; add 2-digit numbers mentally; subtract 2-digit and 3-digit numbers
Learn × and ÷ facts for the 6 and 9 times-table and identify patterns; multiply multiples of 10 by single-digit numbers; multiply 2-digit numbers by single-digit numbers (the grid method); find fractions of amounts
UOI
 ‘Finding out’ part of our unit is where we will find out more about our lines of inquiry, focusing mainly on the concept of ‘well-being’, healthy relationships.
As an extension to our ‘Finding Out stage’, we will be writing surveys to find out more about our topic, discussing conflict, as well as incorporating our Learner Profiles.

*Please ensure that your child is keeping up to date with his/her homework. New homework will be allocated every Monday.

*Times table test on Wednesday will be the 4 times table. Please revise.

Musical Chairs


In English, we played musical chairs in order to peer edit our Acrostic Poetry. Some students were able to include adjectives and adverbs and others even added some wonderful similes and alliteration!
