We started our unit on Myths and Legends! We read different types of myths and investigated the specific features of the text, noticing interesting language and building vocabulary.
This week we will continue to explore different myths and legends, and try to discover the differences between them. We will also look at planning paragraphs and practice making compound sentences with joining words.

Convert multiples of 100 g into kilograms; convert multiples of 100 ml into litres; read scales to the nearest 100 ml; estimate capacities; draw bar charts, record and interpret information

Introduce our new UOI topic:

WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE IN TIME

Human migration is a response to challenges, risks and opportunities
Unpack our central idea and practice our questioning techniques in order to find out more about our topic. We will also listen to guest speakers as they share their own stories of migration.

*Please ensure that your child is keeping up to date with his/her homework. New homework will be allocated every Monday.

*Times table test on Wednesday will be the 4 times table. Please revise.

We finished our unit on stories from another culture. We looked at strategies for recording and building vocabulary and developed our own story based on The Awongalena Tree.
We will begin our unit on Myths and Legends! We will read different types of myths and investigate the specific features of the text, noticing interesting language and building vocabulary.
Maths
Look at place value in decimals and the relationship between tenths and decimals; add two 4-digit numbers; practise written and mental addition methods; use vertical addition to investigate patterns
Convert multiples of 100g into kilograms; convert multiples of 100ml into litres; read scales to the nearest 100ml; estimate capacities; draw bar charts, record and interpret information
UOI
We wrote fictional stories about how relationships affect well-being  and did an end of unit reflection and assessment

UOI- End of unit reflection







Rama 9 Park

Year 4 visited Rama 9 Park yesterday and took part in a variety of team building activities. We also added a mindfulness and well-being element to the trip. We had a load of fun and the two classes had the opportunity to form new friendships.
