Dear parents,

We hope you are as excited for science day as we are. The science fair will take place at 10:20 until 11:20 in the basketball court. Here are some reminders for you:

1. Parents of children participating are welcome to watch
2. If you need to help your child set up please feel free to come to school at 10:00 to help set up.
3. Please ensure that all equipment and items your child need for the competition are brought with you from home.
4. The judges will go around the experiments to watch your child carry them out and will ask your child questions to gauge their understanding of the experiment for extra points.
5. If your child needs any help with chemicals and so on then this is fine, although the more your child can do the more points they will earn.

Many thanks,

The KS1 team

Shadows

Continuing with our current topic in class Light and Dark, we have been busy exploring shadows. Last week we made shadow puppets and this week created sundials to help us tell the time outside!

Light and Dark

This term we have been exploring the differences between Light and Dark in a variety of subjects. In Art we recreated Vincent Van Gogh's famous 'Starry Night' painting. In Science we have also learnt which animals are nocturnal. Take a look at us busy in class:
