Dance lessons term 2

6th January 2015

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a relaxing and fun holiday.

Please be reminded that this half of term we will have Dance lessons and not swimming lessons. Children will require their PE kit and not their swimming kit.

Also, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all parents for the kind words about our Christmas production last term. We would like to ask parents to send any pictures or video clips from the production so that teachers can use them accordingly. Please contact your class teacher if you require any further guidance, but your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for for support in this matter.

Key Stage 1 production photograph's

Happy New Year everybody and welcome back to a new Term in Year One! I hope you've all had a very enjoyable and relaxing Christmas holiday. School will begin again tomorrow morning and ECA's will run as normal this week too.

This week myself and Ms. Yell would like you to bring any photograph's you may have of the KS1 Christmas production. We will display all of the photograph's outside of our classrooms, so that the children can discuss their fantastic performances with friends and family.

Toys from around the world

Last week we looked at toys from different countries. Y1H also learnt that some children are very poor and cannot afford to have toys, so they use different objects to play with. We looked at children from Armenia, who often play a game called 'Egg Jousting', with hard boiled eggs. First we painted the eggs and then we took them outside to joust! At the end of our egg jousting tournament there were two winners, who had the strongest eggs! Well done Meena and Joshua!!

Investigating forces

Our new topic in Science this half term is 'Pushes and Pulls'. So this week we investigated the force 'Pull' by using magnets. Y1H had to explore which objects in the classroom were magnetic and nonmagnetic. They did a fantastic job, well done everybody!

Happy Loy Krathong!

What a fantastic day! Y1H danced so well in front of so many people in today's Loy Krathong ceremony, well done! We had lots of fun playing Thai games too. Thank you to all parents for making such a great effort with the Thai costumes today.
