House Colours Day.

It was lovely to see the children in their house T-Shirts today. Our classroom was soon turned into a colorful display of green, orange, purple and blue as we made collages with everything in our art cupboard!!!

We ended the day with yummy Angry bird cakes to celebrate Phoom's birthday (this Saturday). Happy Birthday Phoom!

Healthy!!!!

After some sniffles and colds the children are now getting back to swimming. The children are very excited to be back in the water!

This week we have been talking about keeping healthy. We talked about keeping clean, brushing our teeth and how to stop spreading germs if we're sick. We discussed about healthy eating and doing exercise (we will focus more next week) in order to stay healthy.

In numeracy we discussed about shapes; squares, triangles, circles and rectangles. We played games sorting them and trying to describe them, how many sides and how many pointy corners they have. We made some lovely pictures of our free choice, and also made scary monsters counting how many shapes we used. Children tried very hard to draw each shape on whiteboards after listening to their description.

Our Body

This week our focus is 'Our Body'. We read a story about feet and were amazed at all the things we could do with them! We drew around friends bodies trying not to laugh too much, and then labelled the body parts we had learnt using our knowledge of sounds and letter recognition. Later we coloured in the figures.

What's happening in the story?

Our Families

This week we have been talking about our families. The children are now getting used to their literacy groups and have been drawing pictures of their family and their homes, whilst other children look at picture books trying to tell the story to their teacher and others have been playing phonic games with Kru Fon.

Shape families!

We read the story of Goldilocks and the three bears and the children cut the correct sizes of windows and doors to complete the bears cottage using the words 'small, medium and large'.

This week in numeracy we have been focusing on counting ten objects.

A lot of  counting and sticking!!
