Fun with numbers!

The children have been working extra hard at recognising and ordering numbers one to ten. Today everyone joined in with our number rhyme '10 green bottles hanging on the wall.' They did a fantastic job at lining up in the correct number order and listening out for their number when the class called it out. Take a look at our number fun game!

No more bottles hanging on the wall!

Fantastic singers we have here!

3 little pigs house building

This week we have been learning all about the story of 'The 3 little pigs.'
The children have been joining in retelling the story as well as answering questions about what types of materials you can find on the pigs house. As a group we joined together to make 3 houses for the pigs. Each child got to choose whether they wanted to make a straw house, stick house or brick house. They all did a great job at helping to make each home.
Take a look at some of our photos!
We even got to make our own brick house! No big bad wolf could get us now!

Back to school!

What a great first week we have had back at school. The children have come back very excited to see all their friends. Everyone has been playing so nicely together and sharing stories about where they went over the holiday and have now really begun to express their thoughts!

International Day

Wow what a fantastic International Day. I am so proud of the children they did a great job at dancing our 'waka waka' dance. Everyone practiced very hard and we loved seeing their big smiles on stage.

Have a fantastic holiday break relaxing and having fun. We will look forward to see you again on Feb 26.

Thank you very much to all the parents for your support and joining in with International day.

Happy chinese new year!

Happy Chinese new year everyone!
We had a fantastic day in kindergarten. The children did a great job at the dragon dance parade. Well done!
They enjoyed making a snake mask, as well as linking chains together for a snake, some enjoyed making them super long.

Hope everyone had a great Chinese new year

African Safari

This week we have been learning all about Kenya. The children got to make an African tribal mask and then we went in search of some safari animals. They had a great time telling their friends and teachers what animals they could see in the African safari. WE saw lions, tigers, monkeys, hyenas, elephants, giraffes and many more. Take a look at our African safari.

Lets play some music

This week our theme is all about 'Music and Dance'
Literacy: Learning about different styles of music and discovering which parts of the world you might hear them
Maths: Counting and number recognition
Phonics: Revision of Jolly Phonics sounds Phase 1

We have been having so much fun in class singing along to different songs. We took out the box of instruments today and enjoyed making different sounds and trying to follow along to the song, 'I am the music man.' The children did great and were able to listen and play their instrument when it was their turn.
