Lets play some music

This week our theme is all about 'Music and Dance'
Literacy: Learning about different styles of music and discovering which parts of the world you might hear them
Maths: Counting and number recognition
Phonics: Revision of Jolly Phonics sounds Phase 1

We have been having so much fun in class singing along to different songs. We took out the box of instruments today and enjoyed making different sounds and trying to follow along to the song, 'I am the music man.' The children did great and were able to listen and play their instrument when it was their turn.

Food!

This week we are learning all about 'food.'
Math focus: sorting objects by size, shape and colour as well as recognsing different sizes.

We enjoyed reading a story called 'Handas surprise' talking about what kind of fruit she put in her basket. We talked about which fruit we like and dislike.

Today we had fun making up different textures for our fruits such as painting with a fork, dot painting for our strawberries or sponge painting for a green apple.

I saw a rabbit and a bear dancing on the moon!

I saw a mommy and baby alien under a rainbow.

I went on a rocket ship to the moon with my family.
