Next Week
English
We talked about our holidays, and reviewed the features of a personal recount, focusing on using the past tense and putting events in chronological order. We wrote, edited and published a personal recount of our holidays to put on display.
We will start our unit on ‘Fables’ to read, compare and contrast many different fables. We will look at the features of a fable and work towards writing our own.
Math
We explored geometry looking at acute, obtuse and right angles; parallel and perpendicular lines and began to review the properties of regular and irregular 2D shapes.
We will continue to look at regular and irregular 2D shapes and learn about lines of symmetry.
UOI
We began a new unit ‘How the World Works’ by designing and creating a title page for our journals and collaboratively worked on preparing the board to help focus our inquiry.
We will continue to unpack the central theme and main idea, finding ways of recording what we know and need to know about the structure of the Earth.
