We have begun our topic ‘stories with familiar settings’. We had a close look at the story ‘ella’s school trip’ and the children had tremendous fun using puppets to retell the story in their own words.

Math
|
We have been comparing and ordering sets of numbers to 100. We’ve been using 100 squares to find numbers bigger than or smaller than a given number. We’ve also been practicing counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 100.

Humanities
|
We continued our good work on ‘Islands’ by having a look at Koh Samui and understanding the concept of man-made and natural features.

Science
|
This week we were learning about why humans need to drink and eat to survive. This children discussed what would happen and recorded their ideas on a chart before checking what would happen using a computer simulation.

Art
|
This week we began to learn how to sketch our faces and bodies, ensuring that we consider the proportions and shapes carefully.
|
|
PSHE
|
We’ve been getting to know our classmates better by thinking of questions to ask each other, such as ‘what’s your favourite colour?’
