Sun hat reminder

Sun-Cap.jpgDear Parents,

Please can all parents ensure that each child has a  sun hat at school. It should be clearly marked with a name and can be purchased from the school uniform shop. If the uniform shop has run out of stock, then a suitable hat from home can be used until a school sun hat can be purchased.

We will be stressing the importance of wearing a sun hat and avoiding skin damage from the sun to the children. Any child without a hat will have to sit out at playtime or play in the shaded area which is not nearly as fun as running around the whole of the playground!

Many thanks for for support in this matter.

Y1H End of Year class movie

Dear Y1H Parents,

We are pleased to announce our brand new end of year class movies. Previously we would produce e-portfolios for each child, but we felt that a movie would represent a more dynamic and endearing memento for you and your children. A lot of effort has been put into producing these movies by the class teachers and we hope that you will be as thrilled with the results as we are.

There are two options for viewing the video - downloading or using the google previewer to stream.
For downloading:
We suggest you do this at home on the computer as the file size is quite large, just click on the download icon:

Link for class video:
(you must then click the download button to begin)

Please feel free to contact your child’s class teacher if you encounter any problems accessing the movie. Do be aware that the file size of the movie is quite large (around 850mb) and loading times to devices may take awhile.

Many regards,

The KS1 team

If your child could bring a large and strong plastic bag (named) - this is for us to send their work home in.  Y1H parents do not need to bring them as Miss Hays has plenty.

Dear parents,

We hope you are as excited for science day as we are. The science fair will take place at 10:20 until 11:20 in the basketball court. Here are some reminders for you:

1. Parents of children participating are welcome to watch
2. If you need to help your child set up please feel free to come to school at 10:00 to help set up.
3. Please ensure that all equipment and items your child need for the competition are brought with you from home.
4. The judges will go around the experiments to watch your child carry them out and will ask your child questions to gauge their understanding of the experiment for extra points.
5. If your child needs any help with chemicals and so on then this is fine, although the more your child can do the more points they will earn.

Many thanks,

The KS1 team
