Pancake races and ordinal numbers!

Take a look at Y1H taking part in races on Pancake Day. The boys and girls learnt how to flip and run with playdough pancakes. We then had to give rosettes to the runners in the correct order.

The Three Little Pigs

Y1H have been busy learning the traditional tale of the Three Little Pigs. The story also linked nicely with our current Science topic - Materials. The boys and girls have explored strong, fragile and waterproof materials over the last couple of weeks. Take a look at our Three Little Pigs houses that we made in Art. Children chose which material they would use to make their houses...straw, sticks or bricks...

Materials

This term we are exploring materials and different types of buildings. Last week in our Science lesson we investigated objects from around our classroom and decided which materials each object was made from. This week we will begin grouping and sorting objects based on their properties.

Take a look at us investigating:

Dance lessons term 2

6th January 2015

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a relaxing and fun holiday.

Please be reminded that this half of term we will have Dance lessons and not swimming lessons. Children will require their PE kit and not their swimming kit.

Also, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all parents for the kind words about our Christmas production last term. We would like to ask parents to send any pictures or video clips from the production so that teachers can use them accordingly. Please contact your class teacher if you require any further guidance, but your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for for support in this matter.

Key Stage 1 production photograph's

Happy New Year everybody and welcome back to a new Term in Year One! I hope you've all had a very enjoyable and relaxing Christmas holiday. School will begin again tomorrow morning and ECA's will run as normal this week too.

This week myself and Ms. Yell would like you to bring any photograph's you may have of the KS1 Christmas production. We will display all of the photograph's outside of our classrooms, so that the children can discuss their fantastic performances with friends and family.
