Dear Parents,
Please do not forget to provide your child with a sun hat to bring to school. The teachers have been gently reminding the children and explaining the benefits of sun protection. As the weather can get very hot and sunny we wish to ensure that the children are not affected by prolonged exposure to the sun.
So from now, we will enact a strict 'no hat, no play' policy.
Many thanks to all parents for your support with this important issue,
The KS1 team

Number bonds to 10
In Year One we have been practicing how to make 10 by combining two lots of numbers. First we practiced counting and adding in class and then we went outside to find natural objects to make number bonds to 10.

Friendship
We have been discussing friendship in class and why it is important to be kind to friends. Y1H have been busy creating portraits of their friends by using colourful chalks. We also made lovely friendship bands for our friends too!

Sun hats
8th September
Dear Parents,
Please can all parents ensure that each child has a sun hat at school. It should be clearly marked with a name and can be purchased from the school uniform shop. If the uniform shop have run out of stock, then a suitable hat from home can be used until a school sun hat can be purchased.
We have been stressing the importance of wearing a sun hat and avoiding skin damage from the sun to the children. Any child without a hat will have to play in the shaded area which is not nearly as fun as running around the whole of the playground!
Many thanks for for support in this matter.

Our first week back
In Y1H we have been busy getting to know each other and finding out about 'ourselves'. In our first Science lesson we studied the different parts of our human bodies. We then drew around our friends with chalk and then helped one another write labels for different body parts.

Welcome back!
Dear Parents,
We hope that all of our students have had a fantastic summer and are feeling refreshed, ready for an exciting new academic year.
New staff
We would like to welcome a new addition to the teaching staff, Miss. Samantha Yell, who will be working in Year 1. She is excited by the challenges ahead and ready to bring her skills and knowledge to help develop the Primary team.
New Canteen
The canteen has been fully refurbished both in the kitchen and serving areas. The menu has been revamped by the new catering team - so the children will have plenty to choose from to keep them energised and well fed to meet the challenges of the school day!
Homework
This will begin as of Monday next week, as we will use this week to get the children settled into their new classrooms and routines.
Below is a table which outlines which day your child will require their PE/ swimming kit at school:
