Superhero party!!

The children are very excited about having a Superhero party and have been busy this week making masks and belts to wear on Friday. Please don't worry if you don't have a costume as we are making accessories for the children to wear over their regular clothes.

Today we asked the children to make an invite for their favourite bear or toy to come to the party. Please can you let your child bring in their toy tomorrow (Thursday) so we can prepare some outfit for them too!!

Down in jungle where nobody goes...!!

Last week we looked at jungle animals. The children enjoyed singing and dancing to "Down in the jungle where nobody goes" and loved adding more animals and their sounds onto the song. If you would like to sing with your child please follow the link below.

On Tuesday we celebrated Kao-Mun's birthday in style with lots of yummy food, sausages, dim-sum, jellies and a fantastic spiderman cake! Thank you to Kao-Mun's parents for a great party!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

During our last week of minibeasts we read the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. In literacy the children sequenced the life cycle of a butterfly. In Maths this week we looked at time, and talked about what we did at certain times of the day. We also made our very own rainbow clock.

In our joint activities with RS we did lots of crafts including balloon painting to make a hungry caterpillar, a paper plate ladybird and a paper chain caterpillar practising our patterning. We also made some lollipop dragonflies and toilet roll butterflies. Ms Smith had a cool adding machine which we enjoyed playing.

Minibeasts and Yoga!

Last week we started our project of minibeasts. We looked at creepy crawlers and minibeasts that fly. We discussed if there were any minibeasts that we liked and there were plenty we didn't like!! During our activities with RS we painted butterflies, made snails and played phonic games.

Every week till the end of term we will have Yoga with Miss Nancy. Last week was our first week and we got into some strange positions.

Dinosaur egg!!

Last week we had a special delivery of a strange looking egg in our classroom. Helivia found it in my finished work tray. It was big and brown with white spots on it. It was left with a note written by a Mummy, asking RM to take care of her egg. We talked about what might be in it, and decided it could be a baby dinosaur, a baby crocodile, spiderman or a butterfly!! Some thought there might be chocolate or money in it...!!!

We found a box to keep it warm and made signs around it to tell people to be quiet and do not break it!

On Thursday however the egg cracked and whatever was inside ran out leaving a trail of footprints all the way to the window ledge....

We think it was a baby dinosaur and he ran off to the jungle or dinosaur land...!!

Please do not bounce!! Thank you Joshua!
